Stressed Out?

Do you know what the top 5 areas in the body are that hold the most stress? Neck, shoulders, hips, hands and feet! If you think about it, the majority of us spend our days standing, sitting, driving, staring at a computer or on our phone. It's no wonder why we hold tension in these areas! Luckily, there are ways to combat and reduce stress and tension in our bodies.

Water! Not drinking enough water each day is a huge disservice to our body. Drinking half your weight in ounces of water everyday is recommended as a baseline for hydration so bottoms up!

Aroma therapy or the use of essential oils has a history of relaxing the mind and body. There are so many flavors including Lavender, Peppermint and Eucalyptus that are wonderful stress relieving scents. Defusing these oils is a proactive way to reduce stress.

Meditation is another great tool. Just 10 minutes a day in a quiet place can reset your mind and give peace to your body. There are even free apps available to download and help get you started!

Physical activity, whether it be walking for 30 minutes or lifting weights at a gym, is proven to increase stress fighting reactions in our body as the body was designed to move. So stretch those legs and activate your built-in stress relieving system!

Need a little something extra? Massage is an amazing way to physically reduce stress in the body. It can be used to work out knots or just for relaxation. Done by a professional, this service has a huge following with great results.

So whatever your stressors may be, remember that there are many ways to reset the mind and body. Take care of yourselves. You are important and well worth it!
